Drug Court Wisdom

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭20

Imagine you're stuck in a situation where things aren't going well, no matter how hard you try to change them. The judge in the story was talking to someone who kept making bad choices, and his advice was simple but powerful: "If you really want to change, you need new people, new places, and new things."

What he meant is that when you're trying to improve your life or break a bad habit, you can't keep doing the same things or being around the same influences. To really change, you might need to surround yourself with better, more supportive friends, go to different places that inspire positive behavior, and try new activities that push you in the right direction.

The story also talks about how, through Jesus, we are already loved and accepted. We don’t need approval from toxic people or bad habits to feel good about ourselves. By remembering our worth through faith, we can find the courage to make these changes and embrace the "new" in our lives to grow, become wiser, and live better.
